Re-scanning Your DAB Radio

A simple guide to rescanning your DAB Digital Radio

A Simple Step-by-Step Guide to Re-scanning Your DAB Radio

Congratulations!  You are the proud owner of a fabulous DAB radio!

They don’t need much attention, but like any device, they do need a little TLC now and then.. and if you are in the Herts, Beds, Bucks and North London area and still haven't yet found us on your DAB radio then here are all the instructions you need...

The process of re-tuning your radio may be slightly different, depending on what radio model you have, and so the best advice on how to do it will come from the little booklet that was in the box (or in the car documents) when you bought it.

If, however, (like most of us) you threw away those boring instructions in favour of pressing all the buttons and hoping for the best, then the following guidance should help re-tune most DAB sets.

Try this first:

Press the Auto-Tune or Auto-Scan button on your digital radio

If there isn’t an Auto-Tune button…

Press the Menu button and scroll through all the available options until you find Auto-Tune or Auto-Scan.
Select this option.

If that doesn’t work…or if it seems to have worked but you still can’t find us…

It may be time to do a Full-Scan
To do this, press and hold down the Auto-Tune/Auto-Scan button until a Full-Scan begins.
Or

Press the Menu button and go through the options until you find Full-Scan or something like it.
Select this option.

If none of the above actions work.

Hold on tight.  We are going to do a full ‘System’ or ‘Factory’ Reset

System or Factory Reset

The re-tune process detailed above usually works but the full reset will restore your radio back to factory settings.  This is sometimes useful if you have moved house or if you have created lots of settings and presets that you now want to erase.

Do be aware that this process will erase any presets for favourite stations…. But that’s ok because I'll explain how to add All Oldies Radio to your presets at the end of this guide and that's the only one you need!

As with the re-scan, the instruction booklet would be really useful right now, but if you definitely threw it away (have you checked?) then this guide should help.

First of all

Press and hold the Select or the Info button on your radio until the display shows System Reset or Factory Reset.

If that doesn’t work or you don’t have a select/info button

Press and hold the Menu button for three seconds and then push the Tune button within 3 seconds to confirm the Reset.

Or you could try this

Press the Menu button and select System Reset or Factory Reset.

Now you have reset to factory settings, the device should be like new!

You now need to go to the top of this guide and start again (sorry) following the Full Scan procedure.

Finding All Oldies Radio:
We are there… I promise!

All radios are different but as you scroll through you should find us in the Herts, Beds & Bucks category in the menu.

Restoring your Presets:
Resetting your radio may result in your radio losing any Presets or favourite stations…. But that’s ok, you can forget about the old presets, because you have a NEW favourite station now!

Here's how to set AOR as your favourite

1. Select All Oldies Radio from the station list.

2. Hold down the Preset button for 5 seconds.

3. Release Preset button.

Still having tuning problems?
If you still have problems re-tuning after using these instructions then you are welcome to join our free Facebook group and ask one of the team.  There's often someone around who will be happy to help!

Failing that we recommend contacting your digital radio manufacturer for further advice and support.

Take a look at their website for contact details… you may even be able to download another copy of that user manual you ‘lost’
